Loan periods for other registered borrowers
The following groups of people can register to borrow from VCU Libraries:
- Partners of current VCU staff and faculty (requires registration)
- VCU Alumni must first register online for an Alumni Account and then can sign up for VCU Libraries borrowing privileges.
- Students and faculty at participating VIVA (Virtual Library of Virginia) and RALC (Richmond Academic Library Consortia) institutions (requires registration)
- Library of Virginia members (requires registration and borrowers pass issued by Library of Virginia)
- High school students from participating local high schools
- Current full-time faculty at participating OCLC institutions (requires registration and proof of faculty status)
- Preceptors (clinical faculty, clinical affiliates, field instructors, and coordinating teachers) designated by university departments
Friends of VCU Libraries who donate at least $100 receive limited library borrowing privileges.
Loan periods are generally as follows:
- Books: 28 days, renew up to an additional 28 days
- Reserve items: not available for loan
- DVD, CD, LP: 7 days, renew up to an additional 7 days
- Journals in the library: non-circulating
- Journals in offsite storage: 7 days, no renewal
- Creative Technology in-library resources: 4 hours; renew as needed
- Creative Technology equipment: Not available for loan
- Other Equipment: Not available for loan
- Items from other libraries: Not available
- Total number of items that can be borrowed at one time: 10
