Extending your loan period

Renew material owned by VCU Libraries

Currently enrolled VCU students, faculty, and staff can renew most VCU Libraries owned books and DVDs online by logging into My Account, by calling 804 828-1111, by using Ask Us or in person at James Branch Cabell Library or the Health Sciences Library.

  1. Click My Account 
  2. Enter your VCU eID and password. 
  3. Select "Loans," to see if your items can be renewed. 
  4. If so, click “renew all”  to renew all of your items or click “renew” next to each individual item you wish to renew.  Check your loans list for the new due date.

Some items have a limited number of renewals. You cannot renew items that are overdue, lost or recalled.  Verify your due dates after renewing items. Creative Technology equipment may not be renewed. If you have any questions, call us at 804 828-1111 or email library@vcu.edu.

VCU Libraries affiliates, such as Friends of VCU Libraries, VCU alumni patrons, high school students, students and faculty at VIVA and RALC institutions, etc., cannot renew items online. They may request to extend their due dates by replying to the courtesy notice, by calling 804 828-1111, by using  Ask Us, or in person to Cabell Library or Health Sciences Library,.
