April 22 Giving Day 2025: Give to libraries priorities

March 12, 2025

April 22 is Giving Day. For the fourth year in a row, VCU supporters will come together for 24 hours to raise money for the scholarships, programs and initiatives that transform the VCU community. Gifts given anytime leading up to April 22 count as Giving Day donations.

When you give to VCU Libraries, you help provide the knowledge, spaces and resources that help every student thrive.

VCU Libraries two Giving Day priorities are:

  • Friends of VCU Libraries Scholarship Fund. These scholarships benefit students on both Monroe Park and MCV campuses. Unlike many scholarship, which are restricted to covering tuition only, ours help student defray any financial need–including tuition, food, housing, textbooks, technology and equipment, even grad school application fees.
  • VCU Libraries’ Open and Affordable Course Content Initiative eliminates or significantly reduces the cost of textbooks and course materials by enabling library staff to help instructors use open educational resources and library materials for their courses. Your support of the Barbara J. Ford Endowment for the 21st Century provides much-needed funding for this initiative.
