Applications open August 14 and close September 8

The Cabell Library Student Advisory Committee (CLSAC) promotes the value of Cabell Library in the academic and social life of students at VCU. CLSAC advises VCU Libraries in matters related to service design and implementation, programming and student priorities. Specifically, committee members will:

  • Advise and assist in the design and implementation of services.
  • Attend one pre-scheduled meeting a month.
  • Participate in library service activities.
  • Promote the use of the library to peers.
  • Offer a student perspective on relevant library issues.

More information about CLSAC participation, including policies and procedures, can be found in the CLSAC Handbook.

Cabell Library Student Advisory Committee meets monthly and features various VCU Libraries guests.

Health Sciences Library positions

Applications accepted until noon September 5.

The library serves VCU Health and the VCU schools of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing and the College of Health Professions. Undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral and professional students are eligible to serve. The Student Advisory Committee is an open and effective communication channel between health sciences students and the library.

Committee members are responsible for reaching out to their respective communities to obtain feedback from all MCV Campus student communities to share with the committee and library representatives. Committee members are also responsible for sharing knowledge gained with peers.

A vital voice, the committee surfaces issues of concern or interest to discuss with decision-makers at VCU Libraries. During monthly lunchtime meetings, invited speakers will engage the committee in conversations on various topics including information about library facilities, resources and services. The committee discusses policy, vision, strategy, services and programs of VCU Libraries.

Committee members are eligible for a $100 gift card at the end of the year and are provided with lunch at all meetings.

Applications accepted until noon September 5.
