Thank you, donors: VCU Libraries raises $47k on inaugural Giving Day
May 16, 2022VCU Libraries participated in VCU’s first Giving Day April 28. Thanks to the generosity of 175 individuals, VCU Libraries raised $46,836.
VCU Libraries selected the following four areas on which to focus: Friends of VCU Libraries; the Social Welfare History Project; Friends of VCU Libraries Scholarship; and No Cost Textbooks Initiative. Donors also could give to any area they wished.

The majority of the gifts were made to the Friends of VCU Libraries with 65 gifts bringing in a total of $14,881.

The Social Welfare History Project had 36 gifts totaling $18,010 thanks to a generous matching grant from the Hansan Family Foundation.

The Friends of VCU Libraries Scholarship saw gifts from 45 donors totaling $11,165, again thanks in part to a challenge grant from alumna Stephanie Holt, BS’74/E.

The No Cost Text Book Initiative received 22 gifts totaling $2,780.

In addition to these areas, gifts were received for the Staff Excellence Fund and the Miller Collection.
