VCU Libraries seeks feedback on new website feature

VCU Libraries is recruiting participants for remote focus groups conducted via Zoom to provide feedback and direction on new web pages for users based on their status or identity at VCU. 

Designed to serve as starting points for different types of library users, these new pages will link undergraduates, graduate students and staff/faculty to the library resources they use and need the most and aid in the discovery of other information and services.  An undergraduate student, for example, will be able to navigate to a page providing them with materials curated specifically for undergraduate students. 

The development of these new pages is based on previous user experience research. VCU community members noted their difficulty in navigating the wealth of resources available from VCU Libraries and expressed a desire for more personalized ways to explore what the library has to offer. 

The upcoming focus groups are part of an expanding User Experience Program at VCU Libraries that aims to connect deeply and often with the VCU community to ensure that the libraries’ digital services are optimally meeting their needs. Users will receive a $20 Visa gift card for up to one hour of their time discussing the new web pages and ideas for improvement.
