Kathy Bradshaw named Assistant University Librarian for Organizational Development
September 21, 2015Agnes Kathy Bradshaw (Kathy) has been appointed Assistant University Librarian for Organizational Development, effective Oct. 25, 2015.
As AUL for Organizational Development, Ms. Bradshaw will assume responsibility for strategic leadership and planning related to all aspects of the VCU Libraries' organizational design and staffing. She will oversee staff development and training programs; analyze organizational data and advise senior leadership on strategies for strengthening the organization and culture of the VCU Libraries; supervise human resources activities, including policy development and compliance; and direct initiatives related to inclusive excellence and diversity throughout the VCU Libraries, working closely with the VCU Libraries’ Diversity Committee. Ms. Bradshaw will report to the University Librarian and become part of the senior leadership team.
Ms. Bradshaw brings extraordinary preparation to her new role with the VCU Libraries. She has served as Human Resources Librarian at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro since 2010, and previously held roles as a reference librarian at Montclair State University and Benefits Officer for the City University of New York Graduate Center.
Prior to her career in academe, Ms. Bradshaw was Learning and Development Consultant with MetLife and Training Specialist with TIAA-CREF. She holds the Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College, the Master of Science in Human Resources Management and a post-graduate certificate in training and development from the New School for Social Research. She holds the Master of Library and Information Science from Rutgers University. Ms. Bradshw also has met the rigorous standards for professional certification as Senior Professional in Human Resources Management from the Human Resources Certification Institute.
