The temporary Cabell Library entrance will open Friday, March 21. Entrance will be in use throughout the construction process, through fall 2015.

Other construction updates:

Thursday, March 20, there will be activity at the current entrance and the temporary entrance as a variety of things are relocated:  traffic counter, 3M gates, air curtain, and the security officer’s desk.

The demolition of the masonry walls on the west side of the 1st floor will be completed this week.

Framing of offices on the first and third floors will begin next week.

Also next week, there will be some electrical work on the north side of the freight elevator in order to install panels to feed power to the new offices and later this summer to new space.

This work will require noisy core drilling, which will be done between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Outside, bike racks will be installed in a couple spots to replace the ones that were removed last week.  They will be installed on the diagonal section of the new, temporary sidewalk (east side of Cabell Library) and in a spot closer to Linden and Park.
