Knott elected to national directorship

VCU Libraries' Teresa L. Knott joins the Board of Directors of the Medical Library Association--the nation's leading organization devoted to health sciences librarianship--this spring. She begins her three-year tenure after the May conference in Chicago.

Knott is director of Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences and associate university librarian. An associate professor, she is active in library leadership circles. She holds a master's in public administration from the University of Texas at El Paso, the master's in library science from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico.

Her activities and honors include:

  • NLM/AAHSL Leadership Fellow, 2005-2006
  • South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association Distinguished Service Award, 2004
  • Medical Informatics MBL/NLM Course Fellow, 2003
