Description
Lead exposure has long been recognized as a serious public health hazard, capable of causing neurological damage and, in severe cases, death. Despite its dangers, lead has been widely used in American industry for more than a century, appearing in products such as household paints and gasoline and putting countless lives at risk.
This Lead Is Killing Us: A History of Citizens Fighting Lead Poisoning in Their Communities highlights the powerful stories of advocates who have worked tirelessly to protect their neighborhoods from lead exposure and to demand accountability from industry leaders, housing authorities, and elected officials.
