International Love Data Week is marked annually the week of Valentine's Day. It is sponsored by the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR).
VCU is a member of ICPSR, which provides access to datasets for secondary use across a range of health, political and social issues. This membership supports student and faculty research and evaluation needs as well as skills for data-driven decision making.
For Love Data Week, books about data will be on display in lobbies at Cabell Library and the Health Sciences Library. For a preview of the display and links to more resources, see the Love Data Week guide.
For Love Data Week, VCU Libraries will offer several learning opportunities.
- Finding Health Statistics Online will be offered on Feb. 13 from 11 a.m.-noon. Register Now.
- How to Find and Appraise Secondary Datasets will be offered on Feb.15 from 11 a.m.-noon. Register Now.
- In the Workshops @ The Workshop webinar series, our Research Communications series Data, Design, and Dissemination will reprise in honor of Love Data Week. Events take place Feb. 13 noon-12:45 p.m., Feb. 14 noon-12:45 p.m. and Feb. 15 noon-12:45 p.m. Register Now.
- A live Open Science Framework Hands-on Workshop will be held at the Health Sciences Library on Feb. 13, 1-3 p.m. Register Now.
VCU Libraries supports data-focused education and data discovery through partnerships between the Research Data department, subject specialist librarians and faculty. VCU Libraries data team also helps researchers throughout the VCU community to love their data with data management and ethical data sharing.
