Charles Brownell, Ph.D., professor emeritus of art history at VCU, and Louise Brownell, registrar emerita at the Maryland Historical Society, will be returning to VCU Libraries for another lecture on the historic architecture of the once glittering mansions on West Franklin Street. Artistic Mansions VI will focus on exploring the realms of fantasy, one of the greatest sources of decoration through the ages. Following the lecture, the Brownells will provide tips for self-guided walking tours in the West Franklin Street vicinity.
