A Night in Mr. Cabell's Richmond

Description

Join VCU Libraries for an evening inspired by the 1920s, an era of speakeasies, progressive ideas such as voting rights for women, the music and dance styles of the Jazz Age, front-page literary scandals (like the censorship of James Branch Cabell’s book) and more. Costumes are encouraged.

Enjoy hors d'oeuvres, learn how to dance the Charleston, receive your special library card with access to our speakeasy and see the library transformed, all to benefit scholarships for VCU students. Costumes are encouraged, so dress up and spend the evening with us!

The event will benefit the The Friends of VCU Libraries. Tickets are $100 per person.

Registration is required.

Can't attend but would like to make a gift -- donations go to the Friends of VCU Libraries Scholarship.

Sponsors for this evening include:

Presenting Sponsor: The James Branch Cabell Library Associates in Honor of Dean Irene Herold

Jazz Age Sponsor: VCU Catering

Speakeasy Sponsor: VCU Women's Impact Network
