Collections Care Open House

Description

Do you like books, art, history, science, or enjoy crafts and working with your hands? Visit the Collections Care Lab at Cabell Library where staff repairs books. During the behind-the-scenes tour, visitors will learn about: 

• Our team. Collections Care technicians will offer demos of their work and  sessions on notebook making and minor repair techniques;
• The book repair for circulating collections;
• New lab equipment;
• Environmental monitoring and disaster response efforts;
• The in-progress book repair manual/tutorial videos and more.
