Mary Beth Holm

Mary Beth Holm joined the VCU Libraries faculty in late 2023 as Electronic Resources Librarian. She plays a critical role in securing digital resources, including hundreds of databases and thousands of electronic journals. In managing electronic resources she coordinates efforts to improve discoverability and seamlessly connect users to electronic resource collections in the library management system (Alma), discovery system (Primo VE), and other local library systems.

Previously, she worked as a metadata librarian and integrated library system administrator at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Va. Earlier in her career in Blacksburg, Va., she managed customer service for VTLS, Inc. that provided library automation software and services to more than 1,900 libraries.

Holm is a member of the Electronic Resource Advisory Committee (ERAC) at VCU Libraries. Her research interests include database management and identifying new methods to improve the efficiency of electronic resource management workflows.
